WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THE ORIENTATION CLASS?
This is a 2 ½ to 3-hour course taught in Boise, at the Downtown YMCA, and in Eagle, at Idaho Martial Arts Fitness Center. The classes are taught once a month (usually) during the 2nd week of the month. The next classes should be noted above…
This is a great “get your feet wet” class, where we expose students to all of the core concepts that this unique self defense system is based upon, such as defending yourself from the ground, and why it’s often safer on the ground than attempting to fight standing up. This class is also a great refresher class for students who have taken the Orientation Class or who have arranged Private or semi Private Instruction class previously, and are looking for a quick refresher. The Orientation Class is a great review as well as an introduction to the self defense system.
Please keep in mind that this self defense program orientation is designed to familiarize students to unique approach to women’s self defense, and the class is delivered in a condensed format of only 2 ½ to 3 hours. Anyone interested in attaining a better understanding of these techniques, and who wants to become comfortable with multiple responses to any of the covered attack scenarios, should really contact the Instructor about alternative training opportunities that are more involved.
The class at the YMCA is free to Y Members & Staff, and $20 for non-members. To confirm the date, and save your spot in this class, please call Boise’s Downtown YMCA at 208-344-5502, or email Scott Jones, Director of Health & Wellbeing at the Downtown Y.
